one should seriously acknowledge how fast the world is changing and recalibrate their career plans especially cs/eng degree students - entry level tech jobs are becoming scarcer with layoffs + AI - many big tech companies not giving return offers to interns - swe’s who got laid off and an ever increasing # of new cs grads are increasing the applicant pool and diluting degree value - exponential trajectory of AI progress will make these conditions more competitive we have a tendency to underestimate how fast a technology evolves there’s no better time than now to be betting on yourself and starting a business, learning a new skill, and/or starting a side hustle
