Random thot: it’s fascinating to me the interest of so many in working for @DOGE It’s the first time in my life I’ve seen high performing friends (ppl I went to law school with or who work on Wall Street) express any interest in working for the government… Which makes me wonder what a country looks like when working for the government becomes an elite and aspirational job…it becomes something to be proud of and brag about more so than working at McKinsey or Centerview… I have a feeling that significantly cutting the number of people in government, while implementing performance based pay would change the flow of young brain power to solve big problems… If, based on performance, gov employees could get paid what they’d get lobbying or at BCG or Goldman, we’d be in a golden era asap
