The future of the free world is in Virginia… In my current working thesis, I am assuming the main future global conflict / tension will be: (1) China and their closed, Chinese speaking, network of 1 billion people against (2) The internet and its open, English speaking, network of 7 billion people With the above assumptions, it logically follows that the US should lead the future of the decentralized free world - in thought, legal adjudications, and innovation… Now for some history: The precursor to the internet, ARPANET, was created in Arlington County in the 1970s…innovation happened and it spread to Tysons Corner and Fairfax County where more internet companies started and became connected to each others networks… In 1996, AOL moved its headquarters from Tysons to Loudon County and over the next decades, Data Center Alley - a central hub for the internet was created bc the world’s densest fiber network is here… Why is this important? Because of this history, 70% of the WORLD’S internet traffic flows through Loudon and Fairfax counties… The overwhelming majority of the internet flows through Virginia… Because of this, I see a world where innovation is created and led from this area…history does repeat itself. A world, where with the proper plan, Virginia can become a visionary where new technology companies become headquartered and started and its courts become what Delaware was for corporations… With the right plan, a Virginia with the leading innovation friendly environment - both financially and legally, will capitalize on its own born and bred intellectual capital, while attracting more, and the future of the decentralized free world is in Virginia 🗳️
