Very few app founders know this. Apple LOVES when you adopt the newest iOS features. If you adopt them fast, they'll promote your app in the App Store. Apps that move early don't just get visibility, they see real spikes in revenue because the App Store is literally putting them in front of high intent users. Apple isn't doing this out of generosity. This is them using the carrot to force developers adopt their newer systems. The App Store absolutely plays favorites and Apple decides who cashes in.
